Is my appointment covered by my health insurance and can I claim my appointments?

  • Acupuncture is the only appointment type that is claimable with health insurance. Naturopathy only appointments are not claimable.
  • If you are seeing Rhiannon, acupuncture must be performed within the appointment to claim with your health insurance.
  • The Health Press uses Tyro to process health fund claims. Either via our in clinic terminal at the time of payment, or through Tyro Online which allows your claim to be submitted electronically to your phone or used for telehealth acupuncture appointments. Alternatively, a receipt with our provider number will be emailed to you so you can claim directly with your insurer.
  • You cannot claim any appointment that has been prepaid until after you have had your treatment.

Do I have to prepay for my appointment?

  • All Naturopathy appointments (initial and return) and all Initial Acupuncture appointments are prepaid and processed through our online booking system.
  • Return acupuncture appointments can be paid for at the time of your appointment via our Tyro terminal or Tyro Online, allowing you to claim your health fund rebate immediately.
  • If you have private health insurance, after your appointment you will be emailed a receipt with details to claim.

Are my herbs or nutritional supplements claimable?

  • No, only acupuncture appointments are claimable.

What do I need to bring to an initial appointment?

  • Please email any blood tests or other testing from the last 6 months prior to your appointment.

  • If you haven't had any testing, don't worry, our practitioners can guide you and suggest testing if needed.

What do I do if I have had testing done through The Health Press? Do I require a follow up consultation?

  • Testing done through external labs, with your GP, or a specialist will not be reviewed between consults or via email.
  • Please book a return consult or telehealth appointment to discuss results and any supplement, dietary or lifestyle advice required.

Can I get a quick clinical question answered via email?

  • No we are unable to provide clinical advice or answer health questions via email.
  • For a quick question or concern, we offer a 15-minute telehealth consultation from $60 book here

Where do I purchase supplements?

  • All supplements are dispensed through our trusted dispensaries: Vital.ly | Natural Chemist | Paragon Complementary Medicine
  • Ongoing supplement support, recommendations and dosage changes are only provided for products purchased through these dispensaries.
  • If you have purchased supplements elsewhere and require advice, a $30 fee will apply for simple guidance during your consultation.
  • For more complex requests such as reviewing microbiome or pathology results and adjusting your protocol a $60+ fee or double consultation fee will apply, as this requires significantly more time. 

How do I book or reschedule an appointment?

  • All appointments must be booked through our online booking system 
  • To reschedule, use the unique booking code in your Nookal confirmation email.
